For enterprises that use fax transmission, migrating to VoIP can cause challenges for this transmission. The reason is the difference between fax protocols of a SIP provider and the enterprise’s.

When SIP trunks are not available Vega 400GF gateway connects your FoIP application to E1/T1 trunks to enable TDM connectivity.

T.38 protocol allows reliable real-time faxing. In case when T.38 is not supported, this device uses G.711 fax pass-through standard to enable FoIP. Important to know is that G.711 is more affected by packet loss or jitter.

The appliance has 4 T1/E1 ports and can support up to 120 simultaneous calls. The calls can be used either for voice or fax calls.

Vega 400GF gateways come with error correction mode (ECM). This mode checks each fax and in case of an error it requests retransmission from your FoIP software. Another feature is emergency PSTN backup.

The gateway works with a wide range of both legacy and IP equipment.
