Legrand UPS Presentation Mar16

Wednesday, March 9, was an educational day at the Legrand premises in Athens. And the curriculum was all about Legrand UPSs.

Everybody knows how important it is to preserve data and business continuity in case of power outage, spikes and other utility flaws, but not everybody is aware just how efficient the Legrand UPSs really are. And is there a better way to find it out than to show it in practice? No. That’s exactly why First Telecom and Legrand organized this joint presentation.

The first lesson was held by Thanassis Lilakos, Technical Training Supervisor at Legrand. He introduced the attendees to UPS families of products and gave them an insight in how to select the optimal solution for their customers when it comes to diverse functionality aspects and cost considerations.

The second lesson held by Konstantinos Raissis, CTO at First Telecom and now an avid lecturer had a bit more of a technical and hands on demonstrational flavor. Kostas showed how to optimally communicate between a UPS and the servers it is supposed to protect, especially in terms of multiple smart notifications, graceful shutdowns and automated restart upon reestablishment of regular utility power supply.

Our enthusiastic attendees came from IT companies and agreed that this presentation was extremely helpful and insightful. But nobody can blame them if they truly loved us for the aggressive sales policies announced by First Telecom on the occasion of becoming a significant distribution channel partner for Legrand.
